We understand schools need to ensure parents receive their messages. To assist, we save all your sent emails in the system under "Messaging > Email > History."
You'll find your recent sent emails there. Adjust the date range using "Display Options" to view emails from a specific period.
Emails are labelled with status codes, and a total count is displayed for each code.
|Email is waiting to be sent in the queue
|Email has been successfully sent
|Email has been successfully received by the destination server
|Email has been rejected by the destination server (usually means email address is incorrect)
|Email has opened by the destination user.
|Message failed with primary email server so sent with secondary server.
|Message opened and one or more file attachments accessed by user.
The Warning List
If an email has failed to send, you can then go to Messaging > Email > Warning List for more information about why it did not send.
Email providers will often return a message if the email has failed or ‘bounced’. The Warning List will then show a tick and the Notes column will show the error message received (typically this is a result of the email address being incorrect or no longer used).
Every email sent via Horizons includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. This is necessary to prevent emails from being marked as spam and to comply with GDPR rules for data and communication.
When a parent unsubscribes, they are placed on the Warning List, and the system won't send them emails. If they unsubscribe by mistake, you can use the "Re-subscribe" button to reinstate their email notifications.
